About Flight Deck Half Marathon & 5K

The Flight Deck Half Marathon and 5K is one of Maine’s premier running events. Held at Brunswick Landing in Brunswick, ME, it is one of the few races in the world that operates on a real airport runway!

The first Flight Deck Half Marathon & 5K was held on April 2, 2011, hosted by the Maine Track Club and the Midcoast Triathlon Club. From 2011 until 2019 the event was called Race the Runways and operated under that name until its final race on April 27, 2019. In 2021 the race was revived by Ventures Endurance under a new name, the Flight Deck Half Marathon & 5K, and reimagined to include a host of improvements, most notably a post race party at Flight Deck Brewing with delicious beer, food, good tunes and games.

Now taking place in the fall each year, the event aligns with Maine’s fall foliage season and has quickly grown in popularity with runners coming from all over New England to take part in this unique run and all the fun that comes with it.
